While some cosmetic procedures such as BOTOX® Cosmetic may be common areas of conversation, labiaplasty is a different story, and one that is not often discussed so openly. Many women living with the physical and emotional discomfort of oversized or stretched labia may not realize that, with the right surgeon, labiaplasty in San Jose, CA, need not be frightening or embarrassing and can be an immense relief.

At Reveal Plastic Surgery, our board-certified plastic surgeons’ commitment to safety and excellent results is rivaled only by their commitment to forming close, comfortable relationships with their patients. Since 1987, Silicon Valley women have been sharing their most intimate cosmetic concerns at our practice and have been treated with compassion and discretion.

Understanding Labiaplasty

Some women naturally have larger labia, and the labia also can be stretched due to age, childbirth, or sexual activity. There are several concerns related to this condition:

  • Intimate situations can be physically and emotionally difficult.
  • Wearing tight clothing can be embarrassing and uncomfortable.
  • Activities such as biking or horseback riding can be painful.

Labiaplasty can also enhance your labia if you have lost volume over time or were born with very small labia. Our surgeons often perform labiaplasty as part of a Mommy Makeover which may also include procedures such as a tummy tuckbreast lift, and breast augmentation.

Our board-certified plastic surgeons have decades of combined experience performing cosmetic procedures for the face, breasts, and body. Their expertise, superior care, and impressive outcomes draw patients from across the San Francisco Bay Area. What to Expect

Labiaplasty is a surgical procedure to either reduce stretched labia or enhance underdeveloped labia. The procedure can be performed under sedation or general anesthesia. To reduce labia, our surgeons will remove excess skin and tissue to create the shape that you want. They will be cautious not to remove too much tissue or to interfere with other structures so that you will be able to maintain full sensation.

Some swelling and discomfort after your procedure is normal but should fade after several days. After about 2 to 3 days, you can resume some activity although strenuous exercise and intimacy should be avoided for 4 to 6 weeks after surgery.

Your Results

Our patients often feel more comfortable in their clothing and in intimate situations after labiaplasty. They are also able to enjoy activities that had previously been uncomfortable.
