Sculptra®

Looking naturally younger is easy with Sculptra filler injections in San Jose, California, at Reveal Plastic Surgery. This aesthetic injectable stimulates the production of your own collagen, a protein in the body that gives the skin firmness and elasticity. Within weeks, you’ll notice brighter, firmer, tighter skin and a refreshed, vibrant appearance.

What Is Sculptra?

Sculptra is a cosmetic injectable that’s different than hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal fillers like the Restylane® and JUVÉDERM® product lines. While dermal fillers add volume right away, Sculptra improvements are gradual. It stimulates collagen production with poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a safe, FDA-approved substance that’s been used in dissolvable sutures for decades.

How Does Sculptra Work?

Instead of producing instant results like HA fillers, Sculptra provides gradual improvement with the production of new collagen. The PLLA acts as a scaffolding within the skin that the body fills in with new collagen for natural-looking fullness that improves for weeks.

What To Expect

Our nurse injector performs Sculptra treatments by making a series of quick, precisely placed injections with a fine needle, ensuring you’re comfortable the entire time. After completing the injections, she gently massages the treated areas to distribute the Sculptra evenly.

The nurse will show you how to repeat the massage at home following a 5-5-5 rule: Massage the injected area for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days in a row.

Is There Downtime Needed After a Sculptra Treatment?

After your treatment, applying an ice pack to treated areas helps minimize swelling and bruising. There are no restrictions, except holding off on strenuous exercise immediately after your treatment.

When Will I See the Results After My Sculptra Treatment?

There will be a noticeable improvement right away, but it will fade within 2 to 3 days because the saline mixed with Sculptra is absorbed. Actual results become noticeable as early as 1 month after treatment. Optimal results usually require 2 to 3 treatments, each spaced at least 3 to 4 weeks apart. Expect to achieve full results approximately 6 months after the last treatment.

How Long Do Results Last?

One of the best parts of getting Sculptra is its longevity. Improvements last up to 2 years.
